Losing weight doesn’t have to be dull and boring. Nor does it have to spell the end to your favourite meals. In most cases it is all about making substitutions with your ingredients, which is achievable whilst still creating delicious dishes.
Now most of the following tips are pretty straight forward, and will not make much of a difference to your food preparations, but some will prove more time consuming than others.
Don’t worry. We have thought of everything to make this entire process easier, and once you have given it a try you’ll soon be losing weight the fun way – eating appetising mouth-watering meals, at a fraction of the calories.
So let’s get started. We are confident that within these tips you’ll find one to suit you and your weight loss management plan in no time.
1. Beef – by rinsing it down in hot water (once you have drained and browned it), you can reduce its fat content by 50% without affecting its flavour.
2. Substitute chicken broth for butter in all your pasta, rice and stuffing dishes
3. Forget using oil and replace it with chicken/ beef broth or wine. Here you’ll gain extra flavour without the added fat.
4. Use fruit juice, salad dressing or wine in your marinades instead of oil. This extra acidic taste will increase the taste whilst reducing the fat
5. In pasta dishes use soft cheeses such as cottage cheese instead of full cheese.
6. Swap mozzarella cheese for cheddar cheese. This will cut its fat and calorie content by half.
7. Bake instead of deep frying. To do this simply add a beaten egg to your food and put them in a plastic bag. To coat them, roll the pieces in bread crumbs and add them to a baking tray. By doing so you will still be able to experience crispy coated meat and food, whilst reducing the fat that can be added by deep frying.
8. Use skimmed milk instead of whole. This will save you on a whole 8g of fat in one glass
9. In your cakes, muffins and brownies, use yoghurt instead of oil. This will add nutritional value, whilst cutting down on the fat.
10. Use 2 egg whites instead of 1 whole egg. Read the rest of this entry

Every day people around the world drink millions of cups of coffee. It has become a staple of life.
Here are some of the benefits of coffee.
It prevents prostate cancer.
This is too weird, but it is true. Coffee contains boron, which is a chemical that helps curb prostate cancer.
It is a good social drink.
You don’t drink alcohol? Well, people go to the coffee house to chat all the time. A cup of coffee could be a good reason to go out and meet new people. A cup once and while can’t hurt. You never know, you might meet a good friend over that cup of Joe.
It helps wash down a meal.
In many cultures it is impolite to either start a meal or finish one without having a cup of coffee. No one is certain that coffee actually helps the digestion process, but it sure tastes good after a meal.
I think it is both really. I think good coffee almost has a sexy taste to it. It tastes rich and full bodied. Not many things can compare to it. Maybe chocolate, but that is another article all together. You love to drink coffee. You love a good cup of steaming hot Joe on a cold morning. Watching the steam come off the coffee as it snows outside is a very relaxing thought.

The term Cellulite refers to a condition associated with a bumpy looking fat most commonly located in the thighs and hip area. Although Cellulite is not an actual disease, it is a condition that is not going to disappear from any severe exercising or diet by themselves. Cellulite are the bumps under your skin which causes the surface of your body to look dimpled. For many this is a reason to cover up on the beach and at work, or not even go at all! Cellulite is caused by little overfilled fat pockets right under your skin. These are fat cells that have become enlarged causing these cells now to take up more space between the skin’s connective tissues than normal, the fat then expands these spaces resulting in the overlying skin dimpling in. Cellulite causes many image problems and many women don’t dare to wear short skirts or shorts because of it.

When I think of bottled water I think of hot tennis players gulping it down between matches. There certainly is a stigma about bottled water. Sometimes I think that one of the things around it is, rich people drink it. We see all of these rich famous people on television drinking it. Bottled water certainly has become popular. There is no doubting that. I go to the store and I see more brands than I can keep track of. I’ll admit that I have drank a few bottles of this stuff in my day. Mainly I get it if I am out and not near home to get a drink of water. If I am out walking or exercising and don’t have a water source near by.
Is bottled water a rip off?
The short answer is yes. There is nothinggreat about it. The only thing that is great about it is how it has been marketed. They tell us it is the best thing that we can get. It is something we all should drink. You have to keep in mind that these companies are in the business of making money. Their goal is to sell you bottled water. Even if you don’t need it.
Is bottled water better for you than tap water?
No, it certainly isn’t. In fact, most bottled water is just tap water. It is filtered and purified so it doesn’t have the taste that the water from your tap has. Anything that will get you to drink more water is great. Though, you must realize that it is nothing more than a waste of money. You aren’t getting something that your body will jump for joy when it gets.
You have to watch what you buy though. Some bottled water has things added to it. Sometimes they will add sugar or other flavorings to it. If it doesn’t taste like pure water, there is something added to it. Sometimes the water will come from a spring or a mountain river. Is this any better for you? Not really. There might be some minerals in it that tap water won’t have. But for the most part it is just the same, but more expensive. Read the rest of this entry

Most of us are focused on fat. It is all that we hear about these days. Since the time we are kids we are told that fat is bad for us. Some people are more worried about calories than fat. To be honest you should be worried about both. You need to make sure that your diet isn’t full of junk food. You should be getting your calories from foods that are good for you. Who cares about not eating any fat, if all your calories come from sweets? I’m not sure how much I believe fat is the bad thing we make it out to be. I’m starting to believe that carbs are the real evil in the diet empire. I really do think this is why so many people are overweight in this world.
Think about it like this. How many cultures in the world eat bread? Most of them eat some sort of bread. Bread for some people is the focus of the meal. In the old days, women spent all day long making breads. This is also true with pasta in some regions of the world. A lot of places eat some sort of pasta with every meal. What about rice? The same thing. The Irish and potatoes? The same thing. These are all carbs.
Most people eat these every day of their lives. I think we are addicted to carbs. I know I am. I eat so much bread and other carbs that I don’t know what I would do without them. That, adds a tire around the waste line. I’m not saying that carbs are worse than fat per se. I mean, fat has its problems too. You eat too much of it, you are getting yourself ready for a heart attack. I mean, your body can only handle so much of them. We have all seen young men get heart attacks at an early age. So, we know that fat is bad.
Not all fat is the same though. Some fat is worse than others. Let’s talk about these different kinds of fat. We have items that are lower in saturated fat. These would include meats and cheeses. They don’t have as much fat as the items we will be talking about next. On the other hand, you have items that are more saturated than meats and cheese. These tend to be anything deep fried. They will include, donuts, french fries, potato chips. Read the rest of this entry
